Despite taking place over many decades (thanks to the intricacies of space travel), this book kept things interesting: court intrigue, assassinations, an ancient mystery, a little archeology, and a desparate battle for the fate of the galaxy (or of our heros at least). I just finished Empire of Silence by Christopher Ruocchio. This is the first book in The Sun Eater, a space opera fantasy series. I don’t have a lot to say about it right now other than that I enjoyed it. This is the first fiction book that I’ve read in a long time so it felt good to get out of my “reading rut”. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series. ...
